Estimated YTD returns from public 13F data
For about 1,400 hedge fund firms, AltMountain estimates the return of each firm's disclosed U.S. stock holdings from its public 13F filings. These are estimates from public 13F data only: they cover a firm's whole stock portfolio, not any single fund, and leave out dividends, fees, shorts, derivatives, bonds and cash.
Where these numbers come from
Hedge funds don't publish returns in SEC filings, so you won't find them in public databases. Managers on AltMountain report net monthly returns from their fund administrator's statements, and we add them only after checking them against those statements. Funds without reported returns still have a full profile built from their Form D.
Which funds show returns
Anyone can search AltMountain; no account is needed. Funds offered under Rule 506(c), which are allowed to advertise publicly, can publish their verified returns here. Funds offered under Rule 506(b) may not advertise, so their figures are never published; they appear as reporting funds and send their numbers to industry databases instead.
For managers
Send us your monthly returns once and we keep your AltMountain profile current and submit the same figures to Morningstar, Preqin, HFR, BarclayHedge, Eurekahedge, eVestment and other free databases. See monthly reporting.
Returns are reported by each manager and have not been audited by AltMountain. Past performance does not guarantee future results, and short track records are especially unreliable. Nothing here is an offer, solicitation or recommendation. Full disclosures
