AltMountain for journalists
AltMountain is a free directory of the private funds that file with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Reporters use it to find new fund launches, check how much a fund has reported raising, see where funds are based, and track trends such as Rule 506(c) advertising, emerging managers and crypto fund formation. Every figure links back to the public filing it comes from.

Please describe the figures accurately:
- Raised is the cumulative amount of securities sold that a fund reported on its latest Form D. It is not assets under management, fund size or performance.
- Current funds are those that filed a Form D in the last two years. Older funds stay in each section's archive.
- Counts of fund launches leave out deal-by-deal series vehicles and SPVs unless a page says otherwise, and recent months rise later as funds that filed before their first sale start raising.
- Form D information is self-reported by issuers and is not reviewed or verified by the SEC.
